East Surrey Bee Hives at an Out Apiary
After our long dry autumn the bees are well
prepared for the coming winter - whatever it may bring- hopefully! Guarded against mice and the green woodpeckers we hope
that they will stay safe and undisturbed till the spring.
We've been making candles and mead so are looking forward to a long undisturbed winter - just
like the bees !
The Co-Op Plan B
This year we have been helping the Co-Op promote beekeeping in and around the South East. They organised days
for people interested in becoming beekeepers and had information stalls at Sustain's honey festival on the South Bank
in the summer and at the National Honey show at the end of October as part of their 'Plan B ' campaign which is supporting
valuable research into pollinators, including honey bees.
